Michael Owen joins Manchester United
There hasn’t been the flurry of transfers we usually see in the off-season but with the transfer window still wide open we can expect to see more moves in the next couple of months. The most notable transfer has seen Michael Owen reject second-tier football with Newcastle United and join Champions Manchester United.
The first Man United v Liverpool match is going to be a cracker. It will be very interesting to see how both sets of fans react as Owen lines up against his former employers, the club he followed as a local boy wearing the shirt of their arch-enemy.
Let’s hope for Michael’s sake that the season is injury-free and he can provide good value to his new masters. Alex Ferguson has pulled off many a transfer coup in seasons past so few are doubting that this transfer will fail.

Yeah. Owen is an interesting acquisition for United. As a fan I’m a bit uneasy about having a former Liverpool player in the team. Can’t remember having one before.
Looking forward to more postings about United. I’ll check out the tshirt designs now.
