Martin O’Neill hopes to improve on the sixth place finish that Villa achieved last season after a great start to their season.  But he’s going to have to do it without several key players.

Manchester City’s off-season spending spree has affected Villa losing skipper Gareth Barry and Stuart Taylor as well as Dane Martin Laursen who has retired from the game.
