Preview: Manchester United 2009/10
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has more silverware in his sights this season and the #1 target will be the Premier League. If his team is successful in 2009/10 they will be the first team to win 4 titles in a row and they will move ahead of arch-rivals Liverpool as the most successful club in English football.
The off season has seen some top players leaving the club but Ferguson is adamant that the Red Devils can triumph again. Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer to Real Madrid will leave a massive hole as will Carlos Tevez who has swapped a red shirt for blue one but has stayed in Manchester.
Michael Owen was a surprise signing and he will be desperate to re-ignite his career at Old Trafford. The full list of transfers is shown below:
Players in: Michael Owen (Newcastle), Gabriel Obertan (Bordeaux), Antonio Valencia (Wigan), Sean McGinty (Charlton), Paul Pogba (Le Havrel)
Players out: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Rodrigo Possebon (Braga), Lee Martin (Ipswich), Fraizer Campbell (Sunderland, Richard Eckersley (Burnley), Manucho (Real Valladolid).
