Spurs continue great start to season
Tottenham Hotspur continued their 100% record this season in sharp contrast to the woeful start last time around. At this stage in the previous campaign they just 2 points, a massive 10 less than this season.
Harry Redknapp’s side should have won more convincingly than the 2-1 scoreline shows as they completely dominated Birminham. They rained shots in on Joe Hart’s goal all afternoon. Ironic, in the end, however, that they were thankful to the Route One option provided by substitute Peter Crouch – who came on and gave them the lead with a trademark towering header.
Jorneyman striker Lee Bowyer struck back for Birminham with an easy shot after a defensive bungle laid the ball at his feet with an open goal in front. Spurs continued to pepper Joe Hart’s goal but just couldn’t find the winner in regular time.
It took 4 minutes of injury time to alloe Tottenham their deserved win. Aaron Lennon sent the Spurs fans into ecstasy when his long low drive flew past the keeper and into the net for a dramatic climax to an entertaining game.
